About the role

We are looking for a Public Funding Manager to drive the company’s innovation and growth through the identification, structuring, management, and justification of projects funded by national and international public grants.

This role is critical to translating bound4blue’s technological and innovation roadmap into well-structured, fundable projects. You will work closely with technical, financial, and operational teams to shape project concepts, ensure alignment with funding requirements, and guarantee proper execution and compliance throughout the full project lifecycle.

Your ability to navigate complex public funding frameworks and to combine technical understanding with strong project and financial control will directly impact bound4blue’s innovation capacity and long-term growth.

Responsabilities

• Identify and assess regional, national, and European public funding opportunities aligned with the company’s strategy and technological priorities.

• Work closely with engineering and technical teams to structure project ideas and translate innovation concepts into competitive funding proposals, including scope definition, work plans, budgets, and required documentation.

• Lead the preparation and submission of public grant applications, ensuring high-quality technical and financial content in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

• Manage the full lifecycle of funded projects, including technical follow-up, milestone tracking, and coordination across departments.

• Oversee the financial control and justification of funded projects in collaboration with the Finance team, ensuring compliance with funding rules, audit requirements, and eligibility criteria.

• Prepare and submit technical, financial, and progress reports to funding authorities.

• Act as the main point of contact with public bodies, funding agencies, and relevant external stakeholders.

• Support R&D tax deduction processes related to publicly funded projects, including documentation preparation and follow-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in public funding, grant management, or innovation project management, preferably in R&D-driven or technology-based environments.

• Proven experience with major funding programs such as Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, CDTI, and national or regional R&D schemes.

• Sufficient technical understanding to engage with engineering teams and translate complex innovation concepts into fundable projects (experience in industrial, mechanical, naval, or data-driven projects is a plus).

• Solid knowledge of project budgeting, cost eligibility, financial reporting, and justification of publicly funded projects.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

• Professional proficiency in Spanish and English, with strong written communication skills for technical and financial documentation.

• Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

• Availability to be based in Sant Cugat del Vallès or Santander, with willingness to work on-site at the Sant Cugat headquarters at least one week per month if primarily based elsewhere.
