OceanScore is an international maritime B2B SaaS company founded in 2020, recognised as a market leader in maritime emissions management and regulatory compliance. We are in a clear scaling phase, backed by strong investors and approaching Series B, with offices in Hamburg, Singapore, Tokyo, Funchal, and Piraeus and a globally distributed team of around 30 people.
ShipReview is our product for the finance and insurance segment. It is a standardised ESG scoring and emissions analytics platform that helps banks, asset managers, and insurers assess portfolio risk, meet reporting obligations, and benchmark vessel performance. The product is live and has credible early customers. It is also still actively developing, and the person who takes this role will have a direct hand in shaping what it becomes.
You will be OceanScore's expert of the finance and insurance vertical globally, responsible for growing the business, deepening customer relationships, and working closely with our product team to further enhance the platform.

- You have sold risk management data, analytics, or financial data solutions into banks, asset managers, or insurers, and you know how to run a complex, consultative B2B sales cycle with lead times of six to twelve months and multiple decision-makers involved.
- You have worked directly with buyers in ship finance, maritime insurance, or adjacent financial services and you understand how these organisations evaluate and adopt new solutions.
- You can point to markets you have built from a limited starting point.
- You have a working familiarity with risk frameworks, credit risk, or sustainability-linked financial instruments in the maritime or broader asset finance space. ESG knowledge is useful but not the starting point we are looking for.
- An existing network in ship finance or marine insurance is a strong advantage, as is prior experience in a scale-up environment.
How you work
- You run your own commercial motion. You set your own priorities, and hold yourself accountable for outcomes without needing daily direction.
- You communicate clearly and ahead of time. Your colleagues and manager know where deals stand, what is blocking progress, and what you need from them.
- You are comfortable with an early-stage product and with the ambiguity that comes with it. You move forward without waiting for someone to hand you a playbook.
- You treat prospects and customers as long-term partners and invest in those relationships with the same seriousness you bring to closing deals.
- You use available tools, data, and AI to work efficiently and keep your focus on the conversations that actually move things forward.

- Vertical ownership: You own the full commercial cycle for ShipReview globally, from first outreach to close. You convert prospects into customers and existing customers into deeper relationships, keep your pipeline current and clear in our CRM.
- Market development: You identify where ShipReview fits in the buying agenda of ship finance banks, asset managers, and marine insurers, and you build a scalable approach to successfully sell into this vertical. You know which conferences matter, which associations open doors, and how to get in front of the right person.
- Customer Engagement and Partnership: You are the primary relationship for customers in this segment. You know how they use ShipReview, where usage is shallow, and what it takes to broaden it. You treat our customer’s long-term engagement as part of your commercial job, not separate from it.
- Product co-development: You are OceanScore's clearest channel from this market. You bring your market insight to the product team on what buyers need, what blocks adoption, and where the product could go next.
- Segment Credibility: You visibly build OceanScore's reputation in this vertical through the right events, relationships, and conversations, with connections that run deeper than a single contact at each account.
