Job Description: Business Development Lead – Pyxis

About Pyxis:

Pyxis is a fast-growing maritime start-up designing and contracting the assembly of innovative electric coastal vessels. Pyxis is committed to transforming coastal shipping with sustainable, zero-emission solutions. Pyxis is scaling rapidly, aiming to deliver 100 vessels annually, and we are looking for a dynamic Business Development Lead for this expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

* Sales Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth and meet ambitious sales targets.

* Market Expansion: Identify and prioritize key markets, both regionally and globally, for electric vessel sales and supporting infrastructure, focusing on fleet owners, commercial coastal operators, governments, and other maritime stakeholders.

* Team Leadership: Build and then manage a high-performing sales team, providing mentorship, guidance, and setting clear targets.

* Customer Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, understanding their needs and aligning Pyxis’ solutions to their requirements.

* Revenue Growth: Own the sales pipeline, drive revenue growth, and increase market share through strategic partnerships, client acquisition, and retention.

* Product and Market Feedback: Work closely with the product development and marketing teams to provide customer insights and feedback, ensuring market-driven product enhancements.

* Partnership Development: Identify and secure strategic partnerships with industry leaders, government bodies, and private companies to accelerate growth.

* Reporting and Metrics: Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and insights to the executive team and investors.

Key Requirements:

* Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally in maritime, transportation sectors.

* 8+ years of experience in sales leadership roles, with a strong emphasis on hitting targets and scaling up sales operations.

* Strong understanding of maritime industry trends, sustainability initiatives, and electric vessel technology.

* Excellent leadership, team player and management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive results.

* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

* Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced start-up environment.

* Fluency in both English and Chinese; fluency in Bahasa Indonesia or Malay is a plus.

* Familiarity with the Asian maritime market is a must.
