Hiring: Salvage Master – Short-Term Project Contract
We are seeking an experienced Salvage Master to join our team for an active tanker casualty project following a collision and subsequent engine-room fire.
The project will involve the safe dewatering of the engine room, assessment and stabilisation of the vessel, and preparation for potential ship-to-ship (STS) cargo-transfer operations. The successful candidate will provide technical and operational leadership throughout the assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the onsite salvage operation.
- Assess flooding, fire damage, vessel stability and structural condition.
- Develop and oversee the engine-room dewatering plan.
- Monitor vessel stability, trim and structural stresses throughout the operation.
- Support the planning and safe execution of potential STS cargo operations.
- Coordinate with the vessel’s Master, technical teams, contractors, surveyors and other stakeholders.
- Manage operational, safety and environmental risks.
- Provide regular progress updates and technical recommendations.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Salvage Master on marine-casualty projects.
- Previous experience involving tanker casualties, engine-room fires or flooding.
- Strong knowledge of dewatering, damaged-vessel stability and emergency response.
- Practical experience with STS cargo-transfer operations.
- Relevant maritime qualifications and valid safety and medical certifications.
- Strong leadership, decision-making and communication skills.
- Ability to mobilise at short notice.

Compensation: Competitive daily rate based on experience
