We are seeking a skilled Trade Finance Manager to build and lead this new financing arm, focusing on lending to US businesses.
Job Description
- Develop Financing Solutions: Design, implement, and manage trade finance products, including AR and inventory financing, tailored to US-based logistics and freight forwarding businesses.
- Client Relationship Management: Collaborate closely with US clients to understand their financing needs and offer solutions that enhance their working capital and liquidity.
- Structuring and Underwriting: Lead the structuring of financing deals, perform due diligence, and underwrite transactions while managing risk exposure.
- Banking Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with US financial institutions and alternative lenders to secure capital for financing programs.
- Process Optimization: Streamline the approval process, aiming to reduce funding timelines to 2-3 days, and explore innovative debt structures for businesses with existing liabilities.
- Team Leadership: Oversee the recruitment and management of a trade finance team as the arm scales.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financing activities comply with relevant US financial regulations and company policies.
- Reporting & Analysis: Monitor portfolio performance, manage risks, and provide financial reports to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in trade finance, AR financing, or inventory financing, with a focus on lending to US businesses.
- Proven track record in structuring and executing trade finance deals for US companies.
- Strong understanding of US credit analysis, financial structuring, and underwriting processes.
- Experience in import and export trade financing, with a deep understanding of global trade operations and cross-border financial transactions.
- Experience building and managing relationships with US-based banks, financial institutions, and alternative lenders.
- Knowledge of US financial regulations, compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and lead a team as the financing arm expands.
